Background

Aabed Meer is a Partner at Questa Capital Management, a venture growth equity firm focused on later-stage investing in healthcare services, healthcare technology, and medical devices. He brings over 15 years of investment and healthcare experience to his role. Before joining Questa Capital, Meer served as a Director and founding team member at Martis Capital, where he focused on private equity investments in the healthcare sector. Prior to Martis, he held positions at Capricorn Investment Group, ExploraMed Development, and New Enterprise Associates (NEA), building a deep track record across healthcare-focused venture and private equity.

Meer holds an AB in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University, and both an MD and MBA from Stanford University. He completed his medical residency training at Stanford and continues to serve on the Stanford medical faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor and board-certified Internal Medicine physician. His dual clinical and business training gives him a distinctive vantage point for evaluating healthcare companies, combining firsthand clinical experience with rigorous financial analysis.

Early in his career, Meer contributed to the Human Genome Project, an international research initiative led by the National Institutes of Health. He also worked on health economics and policy at Kaiser Permanente and the United Kingdom's National Health Service, providing him with a broad understanding of healthcare delivery systems and the economic forces shaping the industry. He serves on the advisory board of the Digital Health Information Summit (DHIS).

Investment Thesis & Focus

Meer focuses on growth-stage investments in companies that are transforming healthcare delivery through technology, services innovation, and medical devices. His clinical background as a practicing physician and his academic role at Stanford inform a thesis centered on identifying companies with strong clinical evidence, meaningful patient outcomes, and scalable business models. At Questa Capital, he targets companies that are past the early startup phase and are positioned to scale -- typically Series B and beyond -- within the healthcare technology, healthcare services, and medical device sectors. Questa Capital's Fund III closed at $397 million, underscoring the firm's commitment to making concentrated investments in transformative healthcare companies.
