Aaron Blazar

Aaron Blazar is a Partner and Head of Origination at Freedom 3 Capital, a New York-based private credit and private equity firm founded in 2013 that invests in North American middle market companies. With over 20 years of experience spanning investment management, strategic consulting, and advisory roles, Blazar leads Freedom 3's investment sourcing program and oversees origination, due diligence, investment execution, and portfolio monitoring, with a primary focus on the firm's telecom and technology investments. He joined Freedom 3 Capital in 2019 and currently serves on the boards of portfolio companies Mereo Fiber and Alaska Communications, where he advises management on strategy, financial discipline, and operations.

Prior to Freedom 3, Blazar served as an advisor to a single-family office concentrating on digital infrastructure and telecommunications investments. Before that, he spent over a decade as Senior Partner at Atlantic-ACM, a Boston-based strategy consulting firm specializing in telecom and technology. At Atlantic-ACM, he founded the firm's investor advisory practice and led its corporate strategy practice, supporting a broad base of debt and equity investors in evaluating transactions and developing value creation strategies. Over his career, Blazar has driven diligence efforts on over $3 billion in debt and equity investments across 15+ companies.

Blazar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colby College. He is also active as an angel investor in seed-stage companies, with personal investment interests spanning internet, infrastructure, enterprise software, cloud, telecommunications, and finance.

At Freedom 3 Capital, Blazar focuses on middle market companies in need of flexible and tailored credit and equity investment structures, primarily targeting family-owned and entrepreneur-owned businesses. His institutional investment thesis centers on telecom and technology infrastructure -- companies providing essential connectivity, digital infrastructure, and technology services. He brings deep expertise in investment thesis development, target identification, transaction analytics, company and industry due diligence, and portfolio company growth strategy development and execution. Freedom 3 Capital's approach involves providing capital solutions that support strategic development and growth opportunities, deploying a range of instruments including senior secured notes, subordinated debt, convertible preferred equity, and minority common equity.

As an angel investor, Blazar targets seed-stage companies in technology-adjacent sectors including internet, enterprise software, cloud, mobile, payments, and telecommunications.
