Background

Aaron F. Hood is a seasoned finance executive, U.S. Army veteran, and angel investor with over 25 years of leadership experience spanning asset management, investment banking, and corporate finance. He helped co-found Perella Weinberg Partners in 2006, one of the most prominent independent financial advisory firms on Wall Street, and served there for over thirteen years in multiple senior roles including Partner & Co-Head of Asset Management, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer of Asset Management. During his tenure, the firm's asset management division grew to approximately $13.5 billion in AUM with strategies encompassing global macro, growth equity, and energy investments. Hood was a member of the firm's Executive, Management, Private Investment, Risk, and Valuation Committees.

Prior to Perella Weinberg, Hood was a Vice President and Associate in Morgan Stanley's Leveraged Finance department, where he arranged financings for energy, power, and transportation clients. Before entering finance, he served for five years as a Lieutenant and then Captain in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, with service in the United States and Europe, including deployment to Bosnia in support of Operation Joint Endeavor. He graduated as a Distinguished Cadet from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Theoretical Economics and Political Science, and earned his MBA with High Distinction as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School.

Following his time at Perella Weinberg, Hood served as a Finance Senior Fellow at West Point's Department of Social Sciences, then joined Summit Carbon Solutions as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, he served as Interim Executive Director of the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) from November 2024 through mid-2025, managing one of the largest public pension funds in the United States. He also serves on multiple nonprofit boards, including the Board of Trustees and Endowment Board of St. Francis De Sales School and as a Director at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
