Background
Aaron Levy is a finance professional with deep expertise in specialty finance, private credit, and operational investing. He earned a B.S. in Economics with concentrations in both Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career as an Analyst in the Restructuring and Recapitalization Investment Banking group at Raymond James in New York, where he gained foundational experience in distressed and complex financial situations.
Following Raymond James, Levy joined Comvest Partners, a well-regarded middle-market private equity and credit investment firm based in West Palm Beach, Florida. At Comvest, he rose to the level of Vice President and was responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including deal origination, transaction execution and structuring, post-closing growth strategies, and portfolio management. This role gave him a thorough grounding in hands-on operational investing.
In early 2018, Levy joined 777 Partners, the Miami-based multi-strategy investment firm co-founded by Joshua Wander. He quickly advanced from Vice President to Investment Principal (2020) and eventually Managing Director, playing an instrumental role in sourcing deals, leading strategic initiatives at the portfolio and shared services levels, and shepherding portfolio companies through financings and refinancings. He was notably involved in 777 Partners' acquisition of Uown Leasing in 2020. Following 777 Partners' well-publicized financial and legal troubles in 2024, Levy departed the firm. He was among a group of former employees who successfully brought a breach of contract case against 777 Partners for unpaid benefits totaling approximately $5 million. Importantly, Levy was not among those charged by the SEC or DOJ in the firm's fraud cases. In 2024, he joined Monroe Capital LLC as a Managing Director in the Specialty Finance and Alternative Credit Solutions group, based out of the firm's Chicago office.
Investment Thesis & Focus
At Monroe Capital, Levy focuses on specialty finance and alternative credit solutions within the middle market. Monroe Capital is a well-established private credit firm that provides direct lending and opportunistic credit solutions to middle-market companies, often in situations requiring creative structuring.
During his tenure at 777 Partners, Levy's investing spanned a broad spectrum of specialty finance businesses, asset originators, and financial technology/service providers. He was involved in consumer and commercial finance (including lease-to-own platforms such as Uown Leasing and Mollie Financial), as well as the firm's broader portfolio across insurance, litigation finance, direct lending, and sports/media/entertainment. His operational skill set complements his investment acumen, and he has demonstrated a hands-on approach to growing and managing portfolio companies post-acquisition.
