Background
Aaron Mankovski is a Managing Partner at Pitango Venture Capital, where he has served since 2000. He leads Pitango Growth, the firm's growth-stage investment arm. Prior to Pitango, Mankovski founded Eucalyptus Ventures in 1997 and served as its Managing General Partner until 2016. He joined the Pitango team when the Eucalyptus and Pitango management groups combined in April 2000. Pitango, founded in 1993 by Rami Kalish and Chemi Peres, is Israel's largest venture capital firm, having invested in more than 300 companies with over 90 going public on NASDAQ or NYSE, or being acquired by strategic buyers such as Google, Apple, IBM, and Cisco.
Before entering venture capital, Mankovski held senior operational roles in the technology industry. From 1986 to 1993, he served as President and CEO of Orbotech, Inc. (NASDAQ: ORBK) in Boston, where he guided the merger of Orbot and Optrotech that established the Orbotech brand. Prior to Orbotech, he was a sales executive at IBM. Mankovski holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Statistics from Tel Aviv University and served as a pilot in the Israeli Air Force.
Mankovski is also the founder and former Chairman of IATI (Israel Advanced Technology Industries), the umbrella organization of the Israeli high-tech and life sciences industries. He serves in the general assembly of O.R.T. Technologies Ltd. His deep connections across the Israeli tech ecosystem, combined with his operational background and decades-long VC career, make him one of the most established figures in Israeli venture capital.
