Background

Aaron Ollivier is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and adventurer based in Provo, Utah. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business (1997-2002). During his undergraduate years, he served as Vice President of the American Marketing Association, competed in skiing and climbing competitions, and volunteered with children with disabilities. His early professional experience included serving as Sales Manager at Sidsports, a local sports retail store, where he developed marketing campaigns through partnerships with local businesses.

Since 2002, Ollivier has served as President and CEO of Precision Concrete Cutting, a trip hazard removal company that uses patented technology to improve sidewalk safety and ADA compliance, saving clients 70-90% over traditional sidewalk repair costs. Under his leadership, the company grew to 48 franchises across the United States and expanded operations across three continents. Precision Concrete Cutting earned three consecutive Top 50 Franchisee Awards and was named the #1 franchise for Franchise Satisfaction in 2013, in addition to winning two First Place titles from Franchise Business Review in 2013 and 2014.

Beyond his core business, Ollivier is an accomplished mountaineer who has climbed high-altitude mountains on five continents. This passion led to a business partnership with Adrian Ballinger, founder of Alpenglow Expeditions, where Ollivier has served as a Partner since January 2013, advising on growth strategy, business operations, and financial management. He is also Co-Owner of Black Ops Valdez, a helicopter skiing operation in Alaska; owner of Aspen Corporation, a real estate brokerage (he holds a current Utah real estate license); and operator of Greenhead Auto (licensed for auto sales in Utah).

Investment Thesis & Focus

In 2013, Ollivier founded Utah Angels 2 (UA2), reviving the legacy of the original Utah Angels venture capital group under new leadership. UA2 is a consortium of accredited investors, entrepreneurs, and high-tech executives focused on investing in early-stage, high-growth companies primarily in Utah and surrounding states. The group's mission centers on three pillars: Strategy (leveraging decades of collective entrepreneurial experience), Capital (funding and growth acceleration), and Connections (linking founders with industry leaders and investors).

UA2 invests predominantly in technology companies, which account for roughly 70% of their deals. The group meets twice a month to review applicants, narrowing the pool to approximately nine companies that pitch in person. These are further refined to three finalists that undergo close examination before an investment decision is made. The average deal size is approximately $75,000, though investments can range up to $1 million. Beyond capital, UA2 provides mentorship, resources, advisory services, and networking opportunities to Utah's startup community. Ollivier is also a Partner at BoomStartup, a Salt Lake City-based accelerator that has invested in 117 companies over 15 years, including unicorns ShipBob and Rappi. BoomStartup focuses on Seed-stage investments with an average round size of $60,400, spanning sectors including Enterprise Applications, Consumer, Vertical SaaS, Retail, and EdTech.

Additional Notes

The phone number on file (+256 country code) corresponds to Uganda, which does not align with Ollivier's known base of operations in Provo, Utah, USA. UA2 stands for "Utah Angels 2," not a Uganda-based entity. This discrepancy should be verified.
