Background
Aaron Charles Rodgers was born on December 2, 1983, in Chico, California. Despite being a star quarterback at Pleasant Valley High School in Chico, he was not heavily recruited by major college football programs. He began his collegiate career at Butte College, a community college in nearby Oroville, where he threw 26 touchdowns in his freshman season, leading the school to a 10–1 record, the NorCal Conference championship, and a No. 2 national ranking.
Due to his strong high school academic record, Rodgers was eligible to transfer to the University of California, Berkeley after just one year of junior college instead of the typical two years. He was named the starting quarterback for the Golden Bears in the fifth game of the 2003 season and went on to set many university records, including the lowest interception rate in school history. Rodgers was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round (24th overall) of the 2005 NFL draft.
Over an 18-year career with the Packers, Rodgers became one of the NFL's most decorated quarterbacks, winning four NFL MVP awards (2011, 2014, 2020, 2021), leading the team to a Super Bowl championship in 2011, and earning Super Bowl MVP honors. He was traded to the New York Jets in 2023, and in 2025 signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Beyond his athletic achievements, Rodgers has leveraged his platform and network to build a successful career as an investor and entrepreneur.
In 2018, Rodgers co-founded RX3 Growth Partners alongside Nate Raabe, a longtime friend and experienced private equity professional, and Byron Roth, Executive Chairman of ROTH MKM (formerly Roth Capital Partners), one of Orange County's largest investment banks. The trio built RX3 into one of the most distinctive consumer-focused growth equity firms in the country by combining institutional investment expertise with an unprecedented network of athlete and celebrity influencers. Rodgers personally invested seven figures into the initial fund and has been actively involved in deal sourcing, portfolio company support, and fundraising.
RX3's unique model leverages authentic relationships between brands and high-profile individuals—including NFL quarterbacks, Olympic athletes, musicians, actors, and entertainers—to accelerate brand growth through endorsements, partnerships, and strategic marketing. This approach has proven highly effective, with the firm's first $50 million fund generating a 62% IRR across four complete exits. In 2023, RX3 closed an oversubscribed second fund of approximately $150 million, bringing total AUM to over $200 million.
Investment Thesis & Focus
RX3 Growth Partners invests exclusively in consumer-facing brands that are "culturally relevant" and positioned for rapid growth. The firm's investment thesis is built on three pillars: institutional capital, operational expertise, and an unparalleled network of influencers who can serve as authentic brand ambassadors. RX3 typically partners with companies that have already achieved product-market fit, demonstrated strong unit economics, and generated at least $10 million in revenue, but need capital and strategic support to scale.
