Background

Aaron Silbar is a Vice President at Roark Capital, one of the most prominent private equity firms focused on franchise, consumer, and multi-unit businesses across North America. He joined Roark's Atlanta office in 2021, bringing with him extensive experience in private equity, investment banking, and debt capital markets.

Aaron graduated from Columbia University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Financial Economics. During his time at Columbia, he was not only a standout student but also an accomplished athlete, playing shortstop for the Columbia Lions baseball team. He was named to the All-Ivy League second team in 2014 and was recognized as a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, demonstrating excellence both on the field and in the classroom. His achievements earned him a nomination for the Senior CLASS Award in 2014. Through the fall semester of his senior year, he maintained a 3.37 GPA while balancing athletic and academic commitments.

Following his graduation from Columbia, Aaron began his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked in two key divisions: the Consumer & Retail Investment Banking group and the Debt Capital Markets group. This foundational experience provided him with expertise in M&A advisory, equity offerings, debt structuring, and capital markets execution across consumer-facing businesses.

Aaron subsequently joined Monomoy Capital Partners as an Associate, where he played an integral role on the deal team supporting the diligence process and driving effective change through operational partnerships. Monomoy is a middle-market private equity firm with over $5 billion in assets under management, focusing on industrial and consumer businesses with $20 million to $200 million in EBITDA. During his tenure at Monomoy, Aaron gained deep exposure to leveraged buyout transactions, operational value creation, and portfolio company management in the middle market.

In 2021, Aaron advanced his career by joining Roark Capital as a Vice President in the Atlanta office. At Roark, he is part of a 74-member team that includes 17 partners and 23 principals, working alongside industry veterans to identify, execute, and manage investments in market-leading franchise and multi-unit businesses.
