Background

Abdulaziz B. Al Loughani is a serial entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and one of Kuwait's most prominent technology pioneers. He is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Faith Capital, a Kuwait-based venture capital firm focused on the MENA region, as well as the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Floward, the region's leading online flower and gifting platform. Al Loughani is the first Kuwaiti to be selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur, cementing his status as a key figure in the Middle East's startup ecosystem.

Al Loughani holds a Bachelor's degree with a double major in Information Systems and E-Commerce from the University of Toledo, which he completed before pursuing an MBA degree from London Business School. His academic background in technology and business laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial journey in the digital economy.

Al Loughani's first major entrepreneurial success came as co-founder and CEO of Talabat.com, the Middle East's largest online food-ordering platform, which he established in 2004 alongside co-founder Khaled Al Otaibi. By early 2007, Al Loughani had acquired a 90 percent stake in Talabat with the backing of two co-investors. He successfully scaled the platform before exiting in 2010 by selling it to Mohammed Jaffar (owner of Kuwait London General Trading) for a reported $2 million, yielding approximately four times his initial investment. Talabat would go on to be acquired by Rocket Internet in 2015 for $170 million, marking the largest technology exit in the MENA region at that time.

Following his exit from Talabat, Al Loughani transitioned into the public sector and investment roles. From 2013 to 2017, he served as the founding Executive Vice Chairman of the Kuwait National Fund for SMEs Development, a USD $7 billion independent public institution tasked with developing Kuwait's entrepreneurial ecosystem. This role allowed him to shape national-level policy and support infrastructure for startups and small businesses across Kuwait.

In 2016, Al Loughani co-founded Faith Capital alongside Mohammed Jaffar to invest in talented MENA founders building technology-driven businesses. In 2017, he launched Floward, a full-fledged e-commerce platform offering premium fresh-cut flowers and gifts with same-day delivery across the GCC and London. Under his leadership, Floward has grown rapidly, achieving over 10x growth in 2020, with revenues in the first 100 days of 2021 surpassing all of 2020. The company raised $2.75 million in a Series A round and $27.5 million in a Series B round led by STV in 2021, reaching a valuation of $152.5 million. Floward's current annualized revenue exceeds $30 million.

Al Loughani balances his dual roles as an active CEO and venture capital investor, leveraging his operational experience to provide strategic value to Faith Capital's portfolio companies.
