Adam Mclain

Adam McLain is a Partner at Freshstream, based in the firm’s London office. Freshstream describes its team as hands-on private equity investors and asset managers, and says Adam joined the predecessor team in 2011, when Patrick Smulders and Rayhan Davis were building the group that later became Freshstream.

Before Freshstream, Adam was European General Counsel and Managing Director at TowerBrook, where he first met Freshstream Managing Partners Patrick Smulders and Rayhan Davis. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years at Sullivan & Cromwell.

Adam received a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where Freshstream says he finished top of his class. He also holds a BA from Claremont McKenna College.

Freshstream was established as an independent firm in 2020. The firm raised €762 million for its first independent fund in 2023 and focuses on backing entrepreneurial and founder-led businesses, typically through controlling stakes.
