Background

Alberto Manzonetto is one of the four founders of Four Partners Advisory, an independent Milan-based financial advisory boutique established in March 2007 by four former JP Morgan professionals — Guido Tugnoli, Alberto Manzonetto, Domenico Romeo, and Simone Rondelli. Before founding the firm, Manzonetto was a Vice President at JP Morgan, where he acted as project leader on corporate finance mandates; he also has prior experience associated with Banca Lombarda International SA. He studied at Università Bocconi in Milan (1994–1998), with a focus on business and corporate law.

At Four Partners, Manzonetto serves as Co-CEO and Head of the Corporate Finance Advisory division. He has extensive experience in wealth advisory and generational (intergenerational) planning, as well as in extraordinary/complex finance transactions, having advised on numerous deals across Sports & Media, Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Fashion & Luxury, and Packaging. Four Partners positions itself as a "pure" independent advisor — providing advice without proprietary products to sell — serving entrepreneurial and private families that own and manage large, complex wealth.

Manzonetto's most publicly visible work is in sports finance: Four Partners served as trusted advisor to former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti and his family. The firm advised on the October 2013 sale of a ~70% stake in Inter Milan to Erick Thohir's International Sports Capital, a deal reported to be worth up to €350 million. Following the transaction, Manzonetto joined Inter's board representing the Moratti family's residual interests. The firm has continued advising the Moratti family, including acting as general advisor on a Moratti Family Holding transaction in 2024.

The firm has been fully regulated under Consob and the Bank of Italy since 2009, was among the first registered on Italy's Albo Unico dei Consulenti Finanziari, and in recent years reorganized from a SIM (investment firm) structure into an SCF (financial advisory) company. It has also launched an art-advisory brand, "4Arts" (Four Arts).

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Primary business is advisory, not fund-style investing: Four Partners is an independent financial advisory boutique focused on corporate finance/M&A, investment-management advisory, and wealth advisory for entrepreneurs and wealthy families — not a traditional venture or angel fund.
  • "Investing in relationships": The firm's self-described model centers on long-term, conflict-free relationships with a small number of institutional-scale private clients, integrating the different components of a client's wealth ("holistic approach").
  • Sector strengths from M&A track record: Sports & Media, Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Fashion & Luxury, and Packaging.
  • Emphasis on independence: Manzonetto has stressed that the 2008 crisis validated the value of *independent* advice free of product-selling incentives — a core selling point of the firm.
  • Note on the "Angel Investor / Seed" label: The stub's "Angel Investors / Seed Round" classification appears to derive from an investor-database aggregator and is not corroborated by Four Partners' own materials or reputable press; treat it as unverified.

Notable Investments

  • Inter Milan (F.C. Internazionale) — 2013: Four Partners advised the Moratti family on the sale of ~70% of Inter to Erick Thohir's International Sports Capital (deal reported up to €350M); Manzonetto subsequently joined the club's board.
  • Inter Milan — earlier attempted sale: The firm was reportedly involved in an earlier, unsuccessful effort to sell Inter to Chinese investors.
  • Moratti Family Holding — 2024: Acted as general advisor to the Moratti family holding on a transaction.
