Background

Alessandra Genco is an Italian finance executive and public-company director. She was born in Rome in 1973 and holds an MSc in Economics from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

She began her career as a Risk Manager at Banca di Roma from 1996 to 1999. From 2001 to 2006, she worked in New York at Goldman Sachs as a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division, covering industrial and natural-resources clients and gaining M&A and strategic-advisory experience.

Genco joined Leonardo S.p.A. in 2006. Her roles there included Head of Investments and Portfolio Evaluation, Vice President for Investments, New Initiatives and Portfolio Evaluation, Vice President Group Finance, and ultimately Chief Financial Officer from October 2017 to November 2025. At Leonardo, her remit included treasury, planning and control, reporting, tax, investor relations, and digital finance.

Since April 2022, she has served as a shareholder representative on BASF SE’s Supervisory Board, where she chairs the Audit Committee and sits on the Strategy and Nomination Committees. In April 2026, she was appointed Independent Director of Italmobiliare S.p.A. and Chairperson of its Management Control Committee; she also chairs the Risk Committee and sits on the Sustainability and Social Responsibility Committee. Rolls-Royce Holdings announced in June 2026 that she will join its board as a Non-Executive Director effective September 1, 2026.
