Alex Crisses

Alex Crisses is a Managing Director at General Atlantic, where he focuses on investments in the firm's Technology sector. He holds two leadership mandates: Global Head of New Investment Sourcing, where he runs the firm's thematic sourcing program, and Co-Head of the firm's Emerging Growth platform, which backs earlier-stage companies with smaller checks than General Atlantic's traditional growth-equity deals.

Crisses joined General Atlantic in 2016. Before that, he was a Managing Director at Insight Venture Partners (now Insight Partners), where he focused on software and internet investments globally. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Investment Banking division at Credit Suisse, covering the global energy and power sectors.

He earned a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He has been recognized repeatedly by GrowthCap as one of its Top Software Investors (named in 2019 and again to the Top 25 Software Investors of 2022 list).

Beyond investing, Crisses is active on a number of boards and civic committees, including Cradles to Crayons (NY Founders Council and Board Member), the Harvard Business School Alumni Board, the Hospital for Special Surgery, Lincoln Center (Board Fellow), Minds Matter, and the NYC Police Foundation's Young Leadership Committee.
