Alex Shortle

Alex Shortle began his career in New York with the leveraged and acquisition finance group of HSBC Securities, where he worked on structuring large leveraged acquisitions. He earned his undergraduate degree at Indiana University Bloomington. After HSBC, he returned to the Midwest and joined Periculum Capital Company — the Indianapolis investment bank co-founded by Robert (Bob) H. Shortle — starting as an Associate and rising to Vice President, where he focused on middle-market and lower-middle-market M&A advisory, private placements, and turnaround engagements, often serving technology companies.

Shortle went on to co-found Meridian Street Capital, a Carmel, Indiana–based venture capital firm (founded ~2015) that invests at the intersection of healthcare and technology. His primary mandate there centered on Seed and Series A investments in U.S. healthcare-technology companies, frequently supporting founders from inception. The firm positions itself as a concentrated, high-conviction partner to founders rather than a broad-portfolio fund.

More recently, Shortle co-founded EO Advisors, an investment bank offering M&A, capital formation, and strategic advisory services to growth-stage and lower-middle-market companies across multiple industry verticals. This blends his operating experience in both venture investing and traditional investment banking. He lives in Zionsville, Indiana, with his wife Annie and their three children, and lists skiing and gardening among his interests.
