Background

Alex Youngwall is a private equity investment professional with roughly eight-plus years of experience across finance and PE. He earned a B.A. in Business Management, with concentrations in Finance and Economics, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Babson College (2012–2016), where he was also a member of the varsity lacrosse team. He began his career in investment banking, first as an analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and then at Wells Fargo, where he worked on industrials M&A transactions.

He subsequently spent about five years at Aterian Investment Partners, an operationally focused middle-market private equity firm headquartered in New York (with a Miami office) that has raised more than $2.0 billion in cumulative equity commitments since its 2009 founding. At Aterian he rose from Associate to Senior Associate and ultimately Vice President on the investment team, leading due diligence, underwriting, and portfolio-management efforts on control investments in complex and underperforming businesses.

In June 2025, Youngwall joined Victor Capital Partners as a Vice President on the firm's Investments team, part of a five-person hiring wave the firm announced to support its growth following the close of its $310 million Fund II (2024). At Victor Capital he is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing new investments, as well as supporting existing and new platform portfolio companies.

Note: The known stub data categorizing Youngwall as an "Angel Investor" writing "Seed Round" checks does not match the public record. His entire career has been in institutional middle-market private equity and investment banking; there is no evidence he makes personal angel or seed-stage investments.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Operates within institutional PE, not personal angel investing — deals are made by his firm, not out-of-pocket seed checks.
  • Victor Capital Partners partners with branded businesses in specialty consumer, industrial technology, and business services, targeting "resilient industries and mission-driven branded businesses with outsized growth potential."
  • Focus is on control buyouts / platform investments in the lower-to-middle market, backed by Fund II ($310M, closed 2024) — a stage well beyond seed.
  • At Aterian, the thesis was value-oriented: acquiring complex, underperforming, or unique-situation middle-market companies (~$25M–$500M revenue) and driving operational improvement.
  • Youngwall's personal value-add centers on due diligence, underwriting, and portfolio management — the analytical and operational execution side of deals.
