Background

Alice Albizzati is the co-founder and a founding partner of Revaia, a Paris-based growth-equity firm she launched in 2018 alongside Elina Berrebi. The firm was originally named Gaia Capital Partners — the source of her still-active email domain, gaiacap.co — and rebranded to Revaia in September 2021 when it closed its first €250m growth fund, billed at the time as Europe's largest female-founded VC fund. Revaia backs European growth-stage technology companies from Series B through to IPO or strategic exit, and today manages roughly €600m across two funds.

Before founding the firm, Albizzati built more than a decade of investing experience across private equity and growth. She began her career as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company, then invested with the mid-market private equity firm LBO France and the French public investment platforms FSI/Bpifrance, before moving to New York to invest for Verlinvest, the Belgian family-owned holding company focused on consumer and growth-stage businesses. Across her career she has been involved in financing, structuring and overseeing 30+ growth companies in Europe and the United States.

She is a graduate of École Polytechnique in Paris (Diplôme d'Ingénieur), holds a Master of Science in Economics and Management of Innovation and Technology from Università Bocconi in Milan, and studied at McGill University in Montreal. She sits on the boards of portfolio companies including Deepki and Hublo, is active with the École Polytechnique alumni association, and is a French-American Foundation Young Leader.

Albizzati has been recognized as one of Private Equity International's "40 Under 40," one of French Tech's "Personalities of 2021," and one of EU-Startups' "100 Most Influential Women in Tech 2023." She is a regular speaker at events such as VivaTech.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Stage: Growth equity — partnering with companies from Series B "all the way through to IPO or strategic exit." Her core conviction: *"Our thesis has always been to say that we need late-stage and growth funds in Europe to support our companies at all stages of development, and particularly when scaling up."*
  • Check size: €10–30m tickets from Revaia Growth II, with roughly one-third of the fund reserved for follow-on investment; the fund targets around 15 portfolio companies.
  • Sector: Sector-agnostic but B2B/tech-focused; Fund I companies were the kind generating <€20m ARR at entry and scaling to €40m–€250m+ in revenue.
  • Sustainability is a gating criterion: Revaia only backs tech companies that commit to sustainability. Investment decisions weigh ESG factors — from company energy use to employer-employee relationships and governance practices such as audits and shareholder rights — alongside financial ones.
  • Market positioning: She frames Revaia as a durable independent platform in a polarizing market — *"a market that is polarising with very big players that are capturing a large part of the flow, and then platforms like Revaia that are able to hold their own."*
