Background
Allen Beasley is a founding-era Partner at Redpoint Ventures, having joined the firm at its inception in 1999; he is today described as Partner Emeritus. Over roughly two decades at Redpoint he invested across a broad set of markets — enterprise SaaS, cloud and security infrastructure, consumer technology, and the consumer Internet. In 2007 he helped launch Redpoint's growth-investing practice and co-managed that group for more than a decade, making him one of the firm's central figures in later-stage dealmaking.
Before Redpoint, Beasley was an associate at Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). Earlier in his career he worked in marketing and product management at Ipsilon Networks, a mid-1990s developer of IP-switching technology that was acquired by Nokia in 1997. This operating-then-investing path gave him hands-on exposure to networking and infrastructure before he moved full-time into venture capital.
Beasley holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Outside of work he is an avid hiker and a San Jose Sharks fan.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Concentrates on growth-stage companies, though his career spans early- through late-stage bets; he was a co-founder of Redpoint's dedicated growth fund/practice (from 2007).
- Core sectors: enterprise SaaS, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, consumer technology, and the consumer Internet.
- Track record skews toward infrastructure and security (Duo Security, Arctic Wolf) alongside large consumer/media outcomes (Sonos, Kabam, Internet Brands, Just Eat) — reflecting a "back durable category leaders" approach rather than a single thematic bet.
- Emphasis on working closely with founders of high-growth companies over multiple years; his public bio repeatedly stresses partnering with "talented and driven entrepreneurs."

- Arctic Wolf Networks — security operations / managed detection & response; Beasley served as a board member.
