Alvaro Schocair

Álvaro Schocair de Souza Filho earned a degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), one of Brazil's top business schools. He began his career as an administrative intern at the pulp-and-paper company Suzano and spent time abroad studying foreign markets and finance. In the early 2000s he served as CFO of the Brazilian arm of Reebok Fitness Equipment before moving fully into investing.

In 2002 he was among the founders of Tarpon Investimentos, the São Paulo asset-management firm, where he worked as a portfolio manager and helped build its investment strategy. Tarpon carried out an IPO in 2007 valued at roughly R$900 million, and Schocair remained on its board until around 2011. During this period he also held board seats at several industrial companies tied to Tarpon's holdings, including Springs Global Participações, Coteminas / Cia. de Tecidos Norte de Minas, and Metalfrio Solutions. Earlier he founded ChemHunter, an online marketplace for chemical products, which was sold to a large industry player.

He founded Bravia Capital Investimentos Ltda in 2009, where he is Founding Partner, Portfolio Manager, and CEO — the São Paulo-based investment vehicle through which he manages capital and makes direct investments. In parallel he established Quebec Impact Assets, a holding company focused on impact investing across education, renewable energy, and healthcare; through it he is a shareholder and board member of the affordable dental-clinic network Odontoclinic and an advisor to GD Solar.

In 2018 Schocair founded the Link School of Business (LSB), a São Paulo business school built around practical, entrepreneurship-first education, of which he is Founder and CEO. He is also a well-known content creator and speaker (the "Além da Facul" persona on Instagram), sharing business and career guidance and appearing frequently on podcasts and at conferences.
