Background

Amy Rosen Wildstein brings roughly 25 years of direct private equity and venture capital investment experience. She began her career at The Blackstone Group, working on principal investments and M&A, then moved to Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, where she evaluated and structured investments for the firm's ~$2.0 billion private equity fund across the consumer, media, technology, and healthcare sectors (buyouts and growth equity).

She has a long history of building women-focused investment vehicles. In 1999 she co-founded Solera Capital, an all-women private equity fund, and in 2001 she established Boldcap Ventures, which invested in early- to mid-stage media/technology and life sciences companies. In 2016 she co-founded Springboard Growth Capital with cable-industry pioneer Kay Koplovitz (founder of USA Network), building a scalable independent-sponsor model to make growth-equity investments of meaningful size in companies emerging from the Springboard Enterprises network of women entrepreneurs.

In early 2021 she launched Suttona Capital as a spin-out that builds on the Springboard Growth Capital strategy, positioning it as one of the only female-led, female-focused growth-equity investors backing consumer brands. Suttona uses a fundless model, creating custom special-purpose vehicles sized to each company's needs rather than deploying a traditional blind pool.

She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Michigan (Ross School of Business). She serves on the Ross School of Business Board of Advisors and the University of Michigan Social Venture Fund Board, sits on the National Advisory Board of Springboard Enterprises (a volunteer since ~2004, screening business plans and coaching companies), and is a member of the New York Fashion Tech Lab Expert Network.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Invests in female-founded/female-led consumer companies, framed by the data point she cites: "Companies founded by at least one woman have 63 percent better performance… yet they receive only 16 percent of venture capital funding."
  • Focus on the consumer sector because, in her words, "consumer spending represents over two thirds of GDP"; targets "high-growth companies with market leadership potential and ESG-friendly business practices."
  • Concentrates on digitally native brands, marketplaces, and tech-enabled services, organized around themes of healthy living, personalization, omnichannel retail, and sustainability.
  • Growth-stage checks: leads or co-leads Series B–E rounds, typically $25M+, via custom SPVs; runs a concentrated portfolio (≈18–19 investments across ~7 portfolio companies).
  • Sells active partnership, not just capital: "Female founders and executives want more women investors – not just on their cap tables, but as active and engaged strategic partners."
