Background
Andreas Guldin is Chairman and Co-Founder of ECP Growth, the firm formerly known as Emil Capital Partners. The firm says he guides its early-stage consumer investments and that he served as CEO until 2023. Emil Capital Partners was founded in 2011 in partnership with Tengelmann Group and rebranded as ECP Growth in May 2025.
Guldin has more than 25 years of experience across retail, consumer goods, and private equity, with senior leadership roles in Europe and North America. His prior roles include Chief Strategy Officer and Owner Representative at Tengelmann, where he had previously been Co-CFO; Chief Strategy Officer and Vice Chairman at The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company Inc.; and CFO of Breuninger GmbH, the German premium department-store chain.
He began his career in management consulting. His education includes a PhD in Economics, an MBA from London Business School, and an MA in Psychology. ECP Growth also states that he has lectured at EBS, the University of Düsseldorf, and the University of St. Gallen.
