Background
Andrei Crețu is a Romanian entrepreneur and investor with roughly a decade in management consulting before moving full-time into building and backing companies. He holds a BS from the Academia de Studii Economice din București (Bucharest University of Economic Studies) and an MBA from the Escuela Europea de Negocios, and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School and IE Business School. His consulting background — about eight years across Europe — centered on growth strategy, market entry, commercial due diligence and pricing.
He is best known as co-founder of 7card, which he bootstrapped into Eastern Europe's leading B2B sports-benefits subscription. He sold 7card to Sodexo in 2019 (the business later became part of the Gympass/Wellhub group). Building on that success, Crețu and his long-time partner Iulian Circiumaru co-founded V7 Capital in 2015 as a Bucharest-based startup studio that both incubates its own ideas and co-invests alongside early-stage Romanian founders. V7 has since evolved into an "evergreen investment holding" spanning listed equities, private companies and select funds, with a mission of empowering local SMEs under its "Roots · Reason · Rise" philosophy.
Crețu's current operating focus is Pluria, a work-from-anywhere / hybrid-work B2B subscription platform he co-founded (with Gabriela Draghia) and leads as CEO, operating across Europe and Latin America. Within V7 Capital he is a co-founder and Board Member, while day-to-day fund management is led by Iulian Circiumaru and Robert Radoslav. He has served on the Forbes Technology Council.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Stage & checks: Seed/early-stage, with individual checks typically €50,000–€200,000 and ~€100,000 described as the "ideal" amount.
- Founders over ideas — chemistry is decisive: In his own words, "The people matter greatly; we need good chemistry with them because we want to be involved… even an extraordinary idea won't work if we don't feel this is someone we could meet 2–3 times monthly to discuss business."
- Hands-on / studio model: V7 acts as both investor and operator, preferring deals where it can be actively involved rather than passive; it has partnered with the GapMinder fund to reach tech-focused startups.
- Romania-first, sector-broad: Historically opportunistic across benefits/loyalty tech, FinTech, consumer/retail and healthcare; the newer holding tilts toward resilient, sustainable, long-horizon businesses (agri, wellness, food, energy efficiency, circular economy).
- Long-term capital: "Capital is not only about money. It is trust, responsibility, and vision," with a stated goal of limited downside and uncapped upside.
