Background
Andrés Gavito Aspe is a Managing Director at Glisco Partners, a Mexico City–based independent growth equity firm with more than 20 years of history that has raised over USD $790 million across five growth equity funds, in addition to real estate strategies. He originally joined the team in 2009 as a Senior Analyst when the group operated within Evercore, and has served as a Managing Director since 2013. Before Glisco/Evercore, he was an Associate at True North Venture Partners and an Analyst at PRA Investment Bank.
He earned an M.B.A. with a focus on finance and economics from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (2011–2013) and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) in Mexico City. Alongside his investing career, he is an adjunct professor of finance at Universidad Iberoamericana.
Gavito is an active board member across Glisco's portfolio and other companies, holding seats or committee roles at Yalo, Muncher, ZeBrands, Ultraorganics, Mezcal Amarás, Grupo Arca, and Kueski (partnerships committee), among others. He is also listed as a mentor at Endeavor México (2023–present) and is associated with the Bridge Latam angel/investor network, through which much of his personal early-stage activity is tracked.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests across two lanes: growth equity through Glisco Partners (later-stage, larger positions in Mexican and LatAm scale-ups) and personal early-stage/angel checks at seed and Series A.
- Personal check size roughly $100K–$5.0M, with a ~$1.5M sweet spot, per his NFX Signal investor profile.
- Sector emphasis on FinTech (e.g., Kueski), consumer, food & beverage, and CPG (Mezcal Amarás, Ultraorganics, The Wild Foods), and marketplaces/commerce (Muncher, ZeBrands, Yalo).
- Prefers founder-led companies with strong unit economics scaling in Latin America; his stated expertise spans equity investing, credit/structured investment, and corporate development — reflecting Glisco's growth-plus-structured-financing DNA.
- Takes a hands-on, board-level role rather than passive checks, consistent with his multiple active directorships.
