Investment Thesis & Focus
- OEP's stated approach is built around "transformative combinations": investing in companies that can become larger, more valuable strategic platforms through add-on M&A, carve-outs, and operational improvement.
- The firm targets high-growth middle-market companies in North America and Western Europe, with a stated focus on industrials, healthcare, and technology.
- OEP's published criteria emphasize B2B companies with stable market growth, fragmented industries, strong management teams, and the ability to build attractive businesses for strategic buyers.
- Dunn's own deal comments show a preference for technology businesses where OEP can use M&A and industry relationships to scale capabilities, expand go-to-market, and create category or regional leaders.
- In technology, his focus areas include IT services, cybersecurity, enterprise software, media technology, telecommunications, cloud, AI, managed services, and digital infrastructure.
