Background
Andrew O'Neill is a Principal at ACT Venture Capital, one of Ireland's longest-established venture firms, based at Richview Office Park in Clonskeagh, Dublin. He joined ACT in 2018 and is responsible for sourcing and executing investments into early-stage technology startups across multiple domains, with a particular personal interest in enterprise software, infrastructure, and security. Beyond deal-making, he manages ACT's platform function — guiding portfolio companies on strategy across fundraising, operations, and talent to support their growth across the firm's portfolio of 40+ companies.
Before entering venture capital, Andrew was a founder and entrepreneur in the retail and martech industries in Dublin, giving him operator experience that he brings to founders he backs. He holds a BA in History & Politics from University College Dublin (UCD), an executive qualification in Finance from Trinity Business School, and a venture capital certification from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business.
Andrew is also a Kauffman Fellow (Class 26), part of the well-regarded global network and program for venture investors, which reflects an ongoing investment in his professional development as an early-stage investor.
