Andrew Seamons

Andrew Seamons is the Chief Investment Officer of HF Capital, LLC, the investment arm of the Haslam family (the Knoxville, Tennessee family behind Pilot Company/Pilot Flying J and the Cleveland Browns). HF Capital deploys capital across direct investments in operating companies as well as commitments to managers of both liquid and illiquid strategies across a range of asset classes and geographies. Seamons has held the CIO role there since roughly September 2020.

Before joining HF Capital, Seamons spent about 18 years managing the assets of AutoZone founder J.R. "Pitt" Hyde III. He served as Chief Investment Officer of Pittco Management, LLC and as Managing Partner of Pittco Capital Partners, LLC — a Memphis-based, closely held private equity firm providing equity and mezzanine capital to entrepreneurial companies across the United States — which he co-founded around 2002. Earlier in his career he was a partner at Paradigm Capital Partners, a Southeast-focused private equity firm; a member of the senior management team at LendingTree; and a consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Academically, Seamons earned a B.S.E. (electrical engineering and economics) summa cum laude from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School (1994–1996), where he was a Baker Scholar. He holds the CFA designation. He is based in the Knoxville, Tennessee area and has served in board and advisory roles, including as an advisor to Silicone Arts Laboratories, a Memphis-based product-innovation company.

• Invests across the capital spectrum: direct stakes in operating companies, private equity and mezzanine capital, and fund commitments to top-tier liquid and illiquid managers — reflecting a long-horizon, family-office mandate rather than a fixed fund thesis.
• Backs proven or scaling businesses in consumer and beverage (Westrock Coffee), energy transition and decarbonization (Ara Partners), and renewables (Silicon Ranch).
• On the Westrock Coffee follow-on, he framed the decision around validating a company's growth strategy — "our belief in Westrock Coffee's strategy to capitalize on the strong demand for extracts and RTD as a growing consumer category" — signaling a bias toward companies riding durable, demonstrable consumer or structural demand.
• Also invests personally as an angel/seed investor (listed as an angel investor in investor databases), leveraging deep Southeastern and Tennessee networks.
