Background
Anshuman Khanna is a chartered accountant and venture-capital investor with more than 15 years of experience spanning VC investments, fundraising, and investment research. He is a commerce graduate from Delhi University, a qualified Chartered Accountant, and an alumnus of the Certificate in Entrepreneurship (CEE) program at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Earlier in his career he worked at Moody's Analytics in Gurgaon and at Brand Capital, the strategic investment arm of the Times of India Group.
He then moved into institutional venture capital at RVCF (Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund), a domestic VC fund, where he was credited with several successful investments and exits and played an active role in setting up the fund and raising institutional capital. He subsequently joined IvyCap Ventures, one of India's largest homegrown venture funds, as Principal / Senior Principal, Investments (roughly 2017–2021), where he led and supported 20+ investments across sectors and served in board/board-observer capacities at portfolio companies.
Around 2021, Anshuman transitioned from institutional investing to operating/building, co-founding GOAT Brand Labs, a Bengaluru-based e-commerce roll-up ("house of brands") that acquires and scales direct-to-consumer brands. GOAT Brand Labs has since raised over $100M from investors including Tiger Global, Mayfield, and BlackRock. As a result, the "Principal, Investments" title at IvyCap reflects his role during his tenure there rather than a current active-investor position; founders should verify his present focus before reaching out.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invested primarily at seed and early stage (pre-Series A / Series A) during his time at IvyCap.
- Sector orientation toward health-tech and technology/data-driven businesses, within IvyCap's broader mandate across HealthTech, ConsumerTech, DeepTech, FinTech, EdTech, AgriTech, and EV.
- Aligned with IvyCap's distinctive alumni-network-driven model, which leans heavily on the IIT/ISB/premier-institution founder ecosystem for sourcing and diligence.
- Emphasis, per IvyCap's stated philosophy, on "creating enduring value for all stakeholders through capital and expertise" — i.e., hands-on support to portfolio companies rather than passive capital.
- Track record framed around investments plus exits (a discipline he brought from his RVCF fund-building experience), signaling attention to realistic paths to liquidity.
Notable Investments
- Elucidata — Biomedical/molecular data ("AI-ready life-sciences data") startup. IvyCap led its $5M pre-Series A round (announced January 2021); Anshuman was publicly associated with the deal and served as a board observer at Elucidata (c. 2020–2021).
- Contributed to 20+ investments across sectors during his IvyCap and RVCF tenures (individual deal-by-deal attribution beyond Elucidata is not publicly disclosed).
