Antonia Cox

Antonia Mary Cox (born November 1963) built her early career in journalism. She worked as a reporter, correspondent, columnist and leader writer at the *Daily Telegraph* and the *Evening Standard*, and at the award-winning online financial commentary service *Breakingviews*, and contributed to other publications including *The New York Times* and *The Independent on Sunday*. She was also a regular commentator for ConservativeHome, writing on policy and society (e.g. pieces from 2006–2009).

She moved into public life and policy, serving as a transport policy adviser to the Conservatives in opposition and as review co-ordinator for the Hodgson Review of the 2006 Charities Act. From 31 March 2016 to 31 March 2019 she was a non-executive director of the Student Loans Company Limited. She was also a co-founder and director of Marylebone Boys' School (Marylebone School Ltd), serving as a director from 2013 to 2020.

Cox was elected as a Conservative councillor for the Hyde Park ward of the City of Westminster in a 2012 by-election and represented the ward for about ten years until 2022. In that role she served latterly as Cabinet Member for Public Protection and as Chairman of the Pension Fund Committee — the position reflected in the stub data.
