Background
Antoine Régis graduated from HEC Paris business school in 2002, where he first developed an interest in entrepreneurship. He began his career in finance, including a stint at JCDecaux in New York (2007), before spending roughly four years at the Boston Consulting Group, where he consulted across distribution, energy, insurance, media and NGO clients.
In November 2012 he co-founded ChicTypes, a men's clothing curation/personal-styling service that launched in March 2013. Within about two years the startup reached more than 100,000 monthly visitors, several thousand customers, a team of ~30 people and monthly revenue approaching €300k. He raised from business angels and then a VC round in July 2015, but the business struggled with unsustainable unit economics and filed for insolvency (non-payment) in July 2016. Régis spent 2017 focused on family and personal development after the closure.
In June 2017 he received a call from Antoine Fine about joining what was then the Otium-affiliated venture effort, and he joined Eutopia as a Partner on November 7, 2017, becoming one of the fund's co-founding partners alongside Antoine Fine, Camille Kriebitzsch and Cyrille Bessière (the firm's roots trace to 2015). Eutopia is a Paris- and New York-based early-stage fund and a certified B Corp / mission-led company that invests in purpose-driven consumer brands. (Note: Eutopia's current public team page lists Antoine Fine and Camille Kriebitzsch as the active partners and no longer lists Régis, which may indicate a change in his day-to-day involvement; his own profiles and Eutopia's writing continue to identify him as a co-founder/partner.)
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests in early-stage (seed–Series A) consumer startups "rethinking how we eat, sleep, dress, exercise and feel" — nutrition, sleep, fashion, fitness, beauty and wellness.
- Strong emphasis on sustainability, mission and impact: Eutopia is a certified B Corp and screens for brands whose products and business models improve consumers' lives and the planet; the firm's stated values are "Ambition, Care and Transparency."
- Check sizes in the ~€0.5M–€10M range, typically leading or co-leading early rounds of consumer/DTC brands aimed at Gen Z and Millennials.
- As a former operator (ChicTypes founder with e-commerce, online-sales and growth-marketing expertise), Régis brings a hands-on, founder-empathetic lens, especially around unit economics — a lesson drawn directly from ChicTypes' collapse over unsustainable economics.
- Sector heart is "New Consumption" (Nouvelle Consommation): better-for-you food & beverage, clean beauty, sustainable fashion, and lifestyle/wellness.
