Arthur Lyman

Arthur J. Lyman is a Managing Director at MASI, Ltd., an international middle-market investment banking firm founded in 1984 and headquartered at 1110 W. Lake Cook Road, Suite 170, Buffalo Grove, Illinois. MASI specializes in mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and enterprise valuation for middle-market companies, and is affiliated with the global M&A International Inc. network. In his current role, Art focuses on acquisition integration and divestitures.

Lyman brings more than 25 years of industry, business-management, and consulting experience spanning food processing, manufacturing, professional services, retail, medical devices, distribution, and healthcare, working with companies ranging from under $10 million to more than $1 billion in sales. He has led three successful corporate turnarounds — in the advertising, medical-device, and executive-search industries.

Much of his career was built in professional services and corporate finance. He spent 15 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), rising to National Director of Finance, where he oversaw 16 regional finance directors. Earlier, as Coopers & Lybrand CFO for the Midwest Region, he led a 32-person team across 22 offices. He also served as a Financial Planning Analyst at Montgomery Ward & Co. and spent six years in audit at Arthur Andersen & Co.

A Certified Public Accountant, Lyman holds an MBA (Master of Management) from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management (concentrations in business strategy, marketing, and accounting) and a B.A. in pre-law and accounting from Knox College. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Illinois CPA Society, and Financial Executives International (FEI), where he served on the Chicago chapter board (1990–1999) and as chapter President (1997–1998).
