Background
Avish Joseph is the Managing Director and CEO of StratAgile Pte Ltd, a Singapore-headquartered technology-consulting and digital-marketing company founded in 2008. StratAgile combines technology with business and marketing needs to deliver online, mobile, and social-media solutions, and works with enterprise clients including in the pharmaceutical/life-sciences space (it is a Veeva services partner). Joseph leads a team described as 250+ employees spread across roughly 14 cities in the Asia Pacific region.
His earlier career spans banking, nonprofit, and digital consulting. He managed internet and mobile banking at ICICI Bank, held a leadership role at NKF Singapore (National Kidney Foundation), worked as a Senior Consultant in Digital & Data Analytics at Wunderman, and has experience from Global Telesystems. He moved from these operating roles into founding and running StratAgile.
Joseph holds a Master of Computing (Management Information Systems / Master's in Management) from the National University of Singapore (2005–2007), an MBA in Systems and Marketing from IIT Bombay, and a Bachelor of Technology from Kerala Agricultural University. His agricultural-science roots connect to his work in agri-tech.
Beyond StratAgile, Joseph is co-founder and board member of Remote Grid, a Singapore-based precision-agriculture startup (founded ~2015 with Anupam Bhattacharya) that builds satellite imaging, hyperlocal weather forecasting, soil-health sensing, and predictive analytics for farming. He has separately invested as an angel in early-stage companies.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests as an individual angel at the seed/angel stage, writing relatively small checks (his disclosed Wedeterna investment was ~US$75,000).
- Backs early-stage founders building digital and consumer platforms — e.g., a self-arranged-marriage (matrimony) DIY platform — as well as agri-tech, an area aligned with his own venture (Remote Grid) and agricultural-science education.
- Strong India–Singapore corridor orientation: Singapore-based investor with roots and deal activity in Kerala, India.
- His operating background in digital marketing, data analytics, and mobile/banking technology suggests he leans toward founders where his go-to-market and digital expertise add value.
Notable Investments
- Wedeterna — Kerala-based "self-arranged marriage" / matrimony platform with a DIY profile-creation model; Joseph provided ~US$75,000 in angel funding (round announced ~March/April 2018).
- Remote Grid — Singapore-based precision-agriculture company (founded ~2015); Joseph is co-founder and board member rather than purely a passive investor.
