Background

Ben Moore is an Executive Vice President and Partner on the investment team at Five Point Infrastructure, the Houston-based energy-infrastructure private equity firm founded in 2012 that manages more than $8 billion in assets. According to Five Point's own account, he has been an EVP and Partner since September 2025, having previously held the same role from May 2015 to November 2024; in the interim (December 2024–August 2025) he served as Executive Vice President of Subsurface and Sequestration at Northwind Midstream Partners, a Five Point portfolio company he helped found and execute. At the firm he leads origination and works across the water, surface and midstream portfolio.

Moore's operating career is rooted in natural gas storage and midstream. Before Five Point he was President and Chief Executive Officer of NorTex Midstream Partners, a North Texas natural gas processing, transportation and storage company, where he ran day-to-day operations, storage marketing and optimization, accounting and finance, project management, and regulatory compliance and safety. Earlier he spent roughly 12 years at ENSTOR (a natural gas storage company), rising to VP of Operations and Engineering and VP of Business Development, where he led the acquisition of five storage facilities totaling roughly 80 Bcf of capacity.

Earlier still, Moore worked in business development and operations roles tied to gas storage and market-hub development, including at Iberdrola and at Texaco Natural Gas (manager, business development), and held marketing/midstream and reservoir-engineering roles at Dominion Resources, Tenneco Oil and Shell Offshore. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Moore currently sits on the boards of two Five Point companies that have gone public: LandBridge Company LLC (NYSE: LB), where he has been a director since its IPO, and WaterBridge Infrastructure LLC (NYSE: WBI).

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Invests as a sector-specialist infrastructure PE firm, not an angel — Five Point targets equity checks of roughly $50 million to $1 billion per platform.
  • Core strategy is "buy and build": acquire or found assets, form companies, and grow them into durable, standalone enterprises with strong management teams and industry partners.
  • Sector concentration in produced-water management, surface/"powered land," natural gas storage and treating, waste handling, and sustainable/energy-transition infrastructure — with a newer thrust into land and power for data centers (PowerBridge).
  • Prefers North American, basin-anchored assets, especially the Permian/Delaware Basin, frequently structured as joint ventures with E&P operators (e.g., Matador on San Mateo, Diamondback on Deep Blue).
  • Moore personally brings an operator/origination lens — gas storage, subsurface and sequestration expertise — so the firm underwrites deep operational and permitting risk, not just financial engineering.

Notable Investments

  • Northwind Midstream Partners — in-basin natural gas treating, carbon sequestration and gas marketing platform in New Mexico; Moore helped found/execute it and served as EVP of Subsurface and Sequestration (2024–2025).
  • LandBridge Company LLC (NYSE: LB) — Permian land-management platform (water royalties, surface use, minerals, resource sales); IPO'd 2024; Moore is a board director since the IPO.
  • WaterBridge Infrastructure LLC (NYSE: WBI) — large-scale produced-water midstream company; Moore is a board director. WaterBridge pursued a public listing (Form DRS/A filings in 2025).
  • San Mateo Midstream — Delaware Basin gas/crude gathering and water disposal JV with Matador Resources.
  • Deep Blue (Water) — Midland Basin water gathering, storage, disposal and recycling JV with Diamondback Energy.
  • Twin Eagle Resource Management — natural gas marketing/trading across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
  • Desert Environmental — Delaware Basin solids/waste handling business.
  • PowerBridge — "powered land" developer targeting gigawatt-scale natural gas-powered data-center campuses in the Permian.
