Bob Kavetsky

Robert "Bob" Kavetsky is the co-founder and chairman of the board of Energetics Technology Center, a Maryland-based nonprofit incorporated in 2006 that provides engineering, data analytics, policy development, and technology-development services to government, academia, and private industry. Public profiles also list him as ETC's former CEO and President.

Before ETC, Kavetsky spent a long career in the Department of the Navy. Catholic University's School of Engineering profile says he led efforts in hypersonics facilities development and undersea weapons technology, and was appointed the first Warfare Center Liaison to the Office of Naval Research, where he established N-STAR, a Navy-wide program intended to strengthen the science and technology community across the Navy's Warfare Centers.

Kavetsky earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering Administration from The Catholic University of America. He serves on Catholic University's engineering Board of Visitors and is also board chair of LET'S GO, a STEM education nonprofit. LET'S GO describes him as having 42 years of experience in RDT&E program development and management, undersea warfare systems, hypersonic wind-tunnel facilities, and Defense Department and Navy policy development.

Public sources do not support the stub's characterization of Kavetsky as a conventional angel investor making seed checks. The verifiable record points instead to a defense R&D, technology-transfer, and commercialization role focused on helping startups and small businesses access government, infrastructure, technical, and ecosystem support.
