Background
Brian S. Zeitlin is a co-founder and Senior Managing Director of GreensLedge, a structured-credit and securitization-focused boutique investment bank founded in New York in 2008. In March 2026, Raymond James completed its acquisition of GreensLedge Holdings LLC; Raymond James said Zeitlin and fellow GreensLedge managing partners James “Jim” Kane, Lesley Goldwasser, and Ken Wormser would run the business within Raymond James’ Capital Markets segment.
Before GreensLedge, Zeitlin spent more than three years at J.P. Morgan as a Managing Director and head of the 160-person Global Structured Credit business. His responsibilities included client management, product development, origination, execution, risk management, and marketing across client advisory services, CLOs, CDOs, credit opportunity funds, and other alternative asset fund products.
Zeitlin began his career in 1989 at Kidder, Peabody & Co., focused on the high-yield market and early high-yield bond CBOs. In 1993, he joined Bankers Trust Company’s investment-management business in high yield and emerging markets, where he oversaw U.S. credit research and raised and managed the firm’s first high-yield CBO. In 1996, he moved to Bankers Trust’s investment bank to launch a CDO banking effort; after Deutsche Bank acquired Bankers Trust in 1999, he ran Deutsche Bank’s Global CDO Group until leaving for J.P. Morgan in 2004.
Zeitlin holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. His GreensLedge bio lists Series 7, 24, 63, 79, and 99 licenses.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Foundersuite classifies Zeitlin as an Angel Investors / HNW investor with a Seed Round stage focus and Finance industry focus.
- His verified professional focus is structured credit and securitization rather than broad venture investing. GreensLedge’s capital-markets work includes debt, ABS, CLO, CDO, hybrid securities, and pre-IPO equity, with the firm acting as placement agent, advisor, or structurer.
- GreensLedge says it has helped clients deliver value worth over $95 billion across 200+ CLOs, CBOs, ABS, debt, and early-stage equity deals.
- The firm’s target-client fit is finance-heavy: structured credit platforms, finance companies / BDCs, alternative asset managers, direct-lending platforms, and institutional clients seeking complex capital-market or fundraising solutions.
- GreensLedge describes its model as relationship-led: “our relationships are measured in decades rather than years,” and says at least one managing partner is involved with every project.
- In the Raymond James acquisition announcement, Zeitlin said: “After 17 years as an independent firm, we’re energized by the opportunities ahead and confident in the scale and growth we can achieve together.”
