Background
Bruce Beckloff is Co-Founder and CEO of Bloc Ventures, a London-based specialist deep-tech investor. Bloc says it was founded by Beckloff and David Leftley, who previously led venture capital investment at ARM and Vodafone respectively, after moving from engineering roles. Bloc has been investing since 2013 and is structured as a permanent capital company rather than a traditional closed-end VC fund.
Before Bloc, Beckloff spent 12 years at ARM Holdings. YellowDog’s profile of him says his most recent ARM role was Head of Corporate Development, responsible for corporate strategy, M&A, and investment activities. Bloc’s team page adds that he created ARM’s investment activity and was named to Global Corporate Venturing’s Powerlist 100.
Beckloff has also assisted the UK government as a Venture Capital Strategic Advisor, helping high-growth early-stage UK companies access venture financing. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science in 1994 and a master’s degree in Materials Science in 1996, and earned an MBA from Southern Methodist University in 1999.
In addition to his investment role, Beckloff is closely associated with portfolio company YellowDog, a high-performance computing and cloud orchestration company. YellowDog’s 2025 profile describes him as Co-Founder and CEO of Bloc Ventures and notes Bloc’s investment in YellowDog.
