Carol Suh

Carol Suh is a Partner at ARCH Venture Partners, one of the most prominent early-stage biotechnology venture firms. She joined ARCH in 2018 as an Associate and was promoted to Partner in 2021. At ARCH she focuses on identifying and evaluating new life-science technologies and is deeply involved in company creation — helping to conceive, launch, and build biotech companies from inception rather than simply funding existing startups.

A stem-cell biologist by training, Suh earned an A.B. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Harvard University, where she trained under Dr. David Scadden at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute. She went on to earn an M.Phil. from Yale University, where she was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship for her work in stem-cell biology, and later completed an M.B.A. at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Before venture capital, Suh worked in R&D Strategy within GlaxoSmithKline's Regenerative Medicine group and was a consultant at Trinity Partners, advising biotech and pharma companies on corporate strategy, market research, and business development. She was recognized on the 2015 Forbes "30 Under 30" list in Healthcare.

Beyond her ARCH investing role, Suh has taken hands-on operating and founding roles in ARCH-created companies. She co-founded Neumora Therapeutics (NASDAQ: NMRA), a neuroscience company, where she served as Chief Operating Officer / SVP of Strategy, and she co-founded Orbital Therapeutics, an RNA-medicines company spun out of Stanford (Howard Chang's lab), where she serves as a board member. She has also been involved in building companies including Magenta Therapeutics, Sana Biotechnology, Autobahn Therapeutics, and Boundless Bio.
