Carter Kennedy

Carter T. Kennedy is a serial software entrepreneur who serves as Co-Founder and CEO of Soloinsight Inc., the company behind the CloudGate physical identity and access management (PIAM) platform. Soloinsight, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Chicago, provides a no-code, cloud-based platform for physical security and workplace automation — including credentialing, visitor management, facial/3D-face matching, access control, and check-in/check-out workflows — serving Fortune 500 enterprises and Class-A commercial real estate portfolios.

Before Soloinsight, Kennedy founded and ran two other ventures. He was Founder and Head of Business Development at SoloMetrics LLC, which later merged into Soloinsight, and earlier founded Airtight Compliance LLC, where he was Director of Marketing; Airtight Compliance built software to automate compliance processes for hedge funds and Registered Investment Advisors. He has been building SaaS businesses for well over a decade.

Kennedy notably invested roughly $3 million of his own capital into Soloinsight before it raised outside money, and under his leadership the company went on to secure more than $10 million in funding — including from Stanley Black & Decker's venture arm, Stanley Ventures. He grew the team from around 15 to over 100 people and the company earned recognition including the SIA New Product Award, a Chicago Innovation Award, and a 4th Revolution Award. Kennedy is educated at the Albany Academy and Hamilton College.

He is also active as a speaker on security, identity, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, deepfakes, and AI risk — appearing at events such as CREtech New York (2021) and DIG SOUTH / Charleston Tech Week in 2025.
