Catriona Forrester

Catriona Forrester is a Managing Director at Sun Mountain Capital, a Santa Fe, New Mexico–based investment firm founded in 2006 that runs both direct-investment and fund-of-funds strategies spanning venture capital, private credit, and growth equity. At the firm she leads the Mexico Ventures program, a fund-of-funds and direct-investment vehicle created with support from the Mexican government and private investors to back companies and funds active in or investing in Mexico-related sectors. She sits on the Mexico Ventures III Investment Committee and holds several Limited Partner Advisory Committee positions tied to the program.

Before joining Sun Mountain Capital, Forrester worked in Guatemala as an Investment Officer at Pomona Impact, an impact-investing firm, where she focused on fund and transaction structuring across Latin America. Earlier in her career she worked extensively in the Asia Pacific region as an Equities Analyst and Portfolio Manager, and held various corporate-finance roles centered on large M&A transactions — including a REIT transaction valued at roughly US$2.8 billion — cross-border deal structuring, capital raisings, and portfolio forecasting and strategic planning.

Forrester holds a BA from the University of New South Wales and multiple master's degrees: Finance (Macquarie University), Accounting (Deakin University), and Commercial Law (University of Technology, Sydney), where she was recognized for "Outstanding Achievement in Taxation Law." Her background blends emerging-markets investing, cross-border structuring, and public-markets portfolio management.
