Charlie Cottingham

Charlie Cottingham is the Founder and CEO of Roble Technologies, Inc., an Austin-based real estate technology company he started in 2023. Roble is a "fiduciary-grade incentive analysis platform" for commercial real estate: it pairs private-equity-style analysis with enterprise software and engineering-level modeling to identify, quantify, and certify value tied to energy performance and capital upgrades — unlocking federal, state, and local incentives, grants, rebates, and low-cost financing for large property owners across office, retail, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, and self-storage assets.

Before founding Roble, Cottingham was a Private Equity Associate at Greenridge Investment Partners (rebranded Greenridge Growth Partners in October 2020), a lower-middle-market growth-equity firm in Austin focused on purpose-built, vertical-specific software businesses. It was while evaluating and investing in software companies there that he identified the market gap Roble now addresses — the billions of dollars in sustainability and modernization incentives left uncaptured by large property owners because of fragmented systems, compliance complexity, and outdated processes.

Earlier in his career, Cottingham served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy, working in intelligence roles alongside special operations units. He is a veteran and a Service to School ambassador. He holds a Master of Arts with Honours (Joint Honours, Business and Chinese) from the University of Edinburgh. He now lives in Austin, Texas, with his Texas-native wife, having credited the city's founder community as a major influence on his path.
