Chris Vroman

Christopher Vroman is the co-founder and a Managing Member of Emmett Partners, a New York–registered venture capital firm launched in 2018 to pursue impact investments alongside philanthropic advisory work. SEC filings for Emmett Partners Impact Fund I, L.P. (filed July 2019) list Vroman, together with Johnathan Lennox, as "Managing Member of General Partner and Management Company" — the two principals behind the fund, which set out to raise up to $25 million. The fund is classified as a Venture Capital Fund and a Section 3(c)(1) pooled investment vehicle.

Vroman's career spans strategy consulting, media finance, and private equity. He spent roughly five years as a management and strategy consultant at Scient Corporation and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), advising both venture-backed startups and large enterprises. He later served as Director of Business Development at RKO Pictures, where he built financing structures to fund film projects, before moving into private equity as an investor at two Los Angeles middle-market funds, Corridor Capital and Black Canyon Capital (the latter affiliated with Canyon Capital Advisors, a large multi-strategy asset manager).

He holds a B.S. from Clarkson University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His long association with Los Angeles institutions (RKO, Corridor, Black Canyon, and LA-based portfolio companies) is consistent with his West-Coast base, even as Emmett Partners maintains its offices in New York.
