Background
Clem Bason is an operating executive in online travel and commerce and is currently listed by Super.com as General Manager, Travel. Super.com describes itself as an all-in-one savings app spanning hotels, cash advances, cash back, credit-building, and games, with more than 30 million users and over $2 billion in sales around the world.
Earlier in his career, Bason held senior roles at Hotwire, an Expedia-owned discount travel site. Hotwire announced in January 2009 that he had been promoted to president of the Hotwire Group, overseeing Hotwire.com, Travel-Ticker.com, and CarRentals.com. The announcement said he joined Hotwire in February 2006 as vice president of hotel supplier relations and later served as vice president of merchandising.
Before Hotwire, Bason worked in strategy and consulting roles: Gap Brand strategy and business development, McKinsey & Co., and Accenture. Hotwire’s 2009 announcement states that he earned an MBA from the Haas School at the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.
Bason later became CEO of DealBase/goSeek. PhocusWire reported that he joined DealBase as CEO in January 2014 after meeting with its investors and developing a revival plan for the hotel-discount comparison business; The Org describes him as CEO of goSeek and notes board service with Paper Source and TechSoup Global. TechSoup’s 2019 Form 1-A identifies him as Chair of the TechSoup Board of Directors.
