Clive Bellows

Clive Bellows is Co-President of Asset Servicing and President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Northern Trust. In this role, he provides global leadership, strategic direction, and oversight across Northern Trust’s asset servicing franchise while leading EMEA business strategy, client engagement, and regulatory affairs. Northern Trust states that he is a member of the firm’s Leadership Team and Governance Oversight Committee.

Bellows joined Northern Trust in May 2011 as Ireland Country Head. His remit included leading Northern Trust’s Irish operations and helping integrate Northern Trust Securities Services (Ireland) Ltd following Northern Trust’s acquisition of Bank of Ireland Securities Services. Before his 2024 appointment as EMEA president, he spent six years as Head of Global Fund Services, EMEA, overseeing asset servicing solutions for global investment managers and their funds domiciled in the region.

Earlier in his career, Bellows held senior roles at J.P. Morgan, including Managing Director with responsibility for EMEA asset managers and hedge funds. He also worked in asset servicing roles at Chase Manhattan Bank, Deutsche Bank, and Barclays International. Global Custodian reported that he previously spent six years at Northern Trust in London from 1997 to 2003 as Head of Relationship Management for Global Fund Services and the Investment Manager Liaison Group.

Bellows is a Certified Investment Fund Director. He has served as President of Chambers Ireland and President of the Institute of Banking, and Northern Trust lists him as Chairman of Basis Point Charity and a board or council member of the Irish US Council, the IOB CIFD Advisory Council, and TheCityUK Leadership Council.
