Dan Grigorescu

Dan Grigorescu is the founder of Pinewoods Management, LLC, a Chicago-based acquisition vehicle focused on buying and operating one private company for the long term. Pinewoods describes itself as “not an independent sponsor, search fund, or private equity firm” but as “one person and his family committed to owning and growing a business for this generation and the next.”

Before founding Pinewoods, Grigorescu spent nearly two decades working with founders and companies as an investor and board advisor. His Pinewoods bio says he has worked with businesses on strategic decisions, growth periods, headwinds, recruiting additional talent, and founder transitions.

Grigorescu joined Flexpoint Ford’s healthcare team in 2015 as a Vice President and was promoted to Principal in January 2021. Flexpoint identified him as involved with healthcare portfolio companies including SouthEast Eye Specialists, Select Rehabilitation, and MGA Homecare. He also worked on Flexpoint’s Canadian Hospital Specialties transaction, where the deal team included Jonathan Oka, Dan Grigorescu, and Blake Heyde.

Earlier in his career, Grigorescu worked for Health Enterprise Partners, Frazier Healthcare, Barclays Capital, and Bear Stearns. He received a B.S.B.A. with honors from Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
