Background
Dan Irwin spent roughly six years (≈2018–2024) as a Vice President and ultimately Principal at LLR Partners, the Philadelphia-based growth-equity firm founded in 1999 that has raised more than $5 billion across its funds. At LLR he led the firm's focus on the industrial IoT space, sourcing and supporting investments in fleet management, asset tracking, and field-operations software. He is no longer listed on LLR's current team page, consistent with his 2024 departure.
Before LLR, Irwin spent about six years at Goldman Sachs, primarily in the firm's Principal Investment Area (its merchant-banking/private-equity arm), where he focused on technology-enabled services and healthcare. He began his career in Goldman's healthcare investment banking group. He holds a dual degree in Finance and Bioengineering, with a minor in Mathematics, from the University of Pennsylvania.
