Daniel Prawda

Daniel Prawda is a Founding Partner of GEF Capital Partners and co-head of the firm's U.S. investment practice, based in Washington, D.C. He focuses on lower-middle-market growth equity and control buyout opportunities in North America. GEF Capital Partners was established in March 2018 as a collaborative spinout from the Global Environment Fund, an early pioneer in global sustainability and environmental investing, with offices in the United States, Brazil, and India.

Prawda joined Global Environment Fund as a Managing Director in 2016 — where he led the firm's investment in Gro-Well Brands — before co-founding GEF Capital Partners alongside partners including Anibal Wadih, Stuart Barkoff, and Alexandre Alvim. Prior to Global Environment Fund, he spent 14 years as an investment professional at ACON Investments, sourcing and executing private equity investments across the United States and Latin America in sectors such as media, manufacturing, and power services. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Latin America Corporate Finance Group at JP Morgan Chase, where he was responsible for corporate debt offerings in Mexico and Brazil.

He holds a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University. Prawda currently serves on the boards of directors of several GEF portfolio companies, including Gro-Well Brands, Inc., EnviroMix, Inc., and Lifecycle Renewables, Inc., and has previously served on the boards of Bluesource and Insite.
