Daniel Reis

Daniel Reis is a Founding Partner of Shorelight Partners, an energy-focused private equity firm founded in 2012 that invests across the energy value chain in Europe. He is described by the firm as an experienced private equity investor in the real-asset space. Shorelight positions itself around the energy transition — investing in assets and technologies that deliver significant, measurable reductions in CO₂ emissions — while also holding conventional oil & gas positions, and it typically commits $50–100M+ of equity per investment alongside experienced operating executives.

Before co-founding Shorelight, Reis worked at Barclays Capital, where he focused primarily on energy opportunities. This path gives him a blend of transaction, accounting/due-diligence, and energy-sector expertise.

Reis holds an MBA in Economics and Financial Management from the University of Berne, Switzerland.

At Shorelight he sits alongside a founding team drawn from the energy industry, including Chairman & Founding Partner Bernhard Schmidt (former Wintershall executive board member) and Founding Partner Arun Subbiah (serial E&P entrepreneur), plus a finance and portfolio-management bench that includes CFO Lakhbir Sandhu (ex-Barclays, Goldman Sachs).
