Daniel Schenk

Daniel Schenk is a Berlin-based M&A professional turned entrepreneur and angel investor with more than 20 years of experience in mergers & acquisitions. He studied Business & Finance in a German–French double-degree program (roughly 1994–1998) at ESB Business School, Reutlingen University, and ESC Reims, earning a master's degree. His advisory career has spanned Berlin, Frankfurt and New York, giving him a cross-border profile in corporate finance, M&A and restructuring.

From June 2007 to December 2016 he was a Founder/Managing Director at Corporate Finance Partners (later Acxit Capital Partners), where he headed the Berlin office. Over his career he has been involved in 90+ transactions across Germany and the USA, including a number of notable deals — for example the sale of SOFORT to Klarna (2013), Qype to Yelp (2012), doctari to Vitruvian Partners (2018) and IGEL Technology to TA Associates (2021).

In 2018 he founded the DoubleDigit Group, a digital M&A advisory business focused on the German Mittelstand. DoubleDigit later merged with the digital M&A platform CARL (formerly CARL Finance), a deal backed by Project A; Schenk took over operational leadership of the combined company and continues as CEO. His stated conviction is that mid-sized companies hold enormous untapped potential that is left on the table because they lack professional, well-monetized corporate finance advice in traditional M&A processes.

Alongside his advisory work, Schenk is active as a private business angel at the seed stage, deploying personal capital into early-stage, mostly Berlin/Germany-based software and digital companies.
