Danilo Amaral

Danilo Amaral is a Partner and Director at Trindade Investimentos, a São Paulo–based investment firm he founded around 2009–2010 that coordinates both venture capital and private equity activity. Through its venture-capital arm, the firm backs early-stage technology companies with capital plus financial, legal and strategic management support; through its private-equity arm, it focuses on middle-market companies in urgent need of financing or facing special/distressed situations. Amaral trained as a lawyer, graduating in law in 1995 from PUC-SP, and later completed a master's (MA) in Political Science at the University of São Paulo (USP). One of the most notable chapters of his career was serving as CEO of BRA Transportes Aéreos S.A. during the airline's judicial recovery (bankruptcy reorganization). In that role he led a debt restructuring that reduced the company's liabilities dramatically (reported on the order of ~£240 million down to ~£75 million), work associated with efforts to allow the airline to resume operations. This blend of restructuring/turnaround leadership and early-stage venture investing distinguishes his profile from a pure startup angel.
