Background

Dave Gesmondi is a co-founder and Managing Director of BellMark Partners, LLC, a boutique investment bank he helped launch in 2009. He has roughly 25 years of investment banking experience and has completed hundreds of M&A and capital-raising assignments over his career. At BellMark he is primarily responsible for originating and executing investment banking mandates, with particular depth in the consumer and industrial sectors.

Before founding BellMark, Dave was a Senior Banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at KeyBanc Capital Markets, Inc. in Cleveland, where he worked on buy-side and sell-side M&A and capital-raising assignments for both public and private companies. At KeyBanc he was twice named the firm's "Banker of the Year" in the institutional investment banking division. Earlier in his career he was a founding officer of the Consumer and Industrial M&A practice at Covington Associates LLC, a Boston-based boutique investment bank.

Dave earned a B.S. in Accounting, *Magna Cum Laude*, from Boston College, and an MBA *with distinction* from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).

BellMark Partners is a FINRA/SIPC member broker-dealer (securities offered through BellMark Partners, LLC) operating from offices in Boston and Beachwood, Ohio. Its senior bankers each bring 25+ years of experience and have collectively executed 400+ transactions.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Role is advisory, not check-writing: Dave and BellMark act as the *sell-side / buy-side advisor and capital-raising agent* for companies, rather than investing a fund's capital. Founders engage him to run a process — to sell, recapitalize, or raise growth capital — not to receive an angel check.
  • Stage / company type: Middle-market and lower-middle-market companies that are already operating businesses with revenue — family-owned, entrepreneur-led, PE-backed, or small-cap public — not pre-revenue startups.
  • Sectors: Consumer, industrials, business & technology services, and healthcare.
  • Service set: Sell-side M&A advisory, buy-side M&A advisory, capital raising, strategic advisory, restructuring, and valuations/fairness opinions.
  • What makes him "say yes" to a mandate: A clear strategic objective (sale, recapitalization, or growth financing) and a business of sufficient scale/quality to attract strategic or private-equity buyers; BellMark emphasizes senior-level execution, a client-centric model, and long-term relationships.
