David Baxendale

David Baxendale is a founding-era partner of Tucker Capital Corporation, a boutique investment bank and strategic advisory firm long associated with Princeton, New Jersey. He joined Tucker in 1985 and served as a Managing Director through 2015, working alongside partners including Craig Battle and Kemp Battle. Battle later recalled that Baxendale's arrival was "when we really began to build the company," describing a partnership in which, "in our 28 years together, we never had a cross word." Baxendale has been engaged in acquisitions, divestitures, and financial and strategic advisory work for more than three decades.

Before Tucker, Baxendale spent seven years as a Managing Director of Tower Hall, Inc., a New York-based investment banking firm where he specialized in leveraged buyouts and management buyouts. Earlier in his career he worked at Johnson & Johnson as Director of Strategic Planning, where he founded and ran J&J Development Corporation, the company's venture-capital subsidiary, and he served for six years on the board of BioMedical Enterprises, a medical device company.

Much of Baxendale's advisory reputation is rooted in education and media. For roughly a decade he was the principal architect of Torstar Corporation's education initiative, which helped create one of the largest supplemental-education companies in the U.S., and he served as a strategic and financial advisor to the National Geographic Society for more than ten years. He is a graduate of Harvard College (economics, high honors) and Harvard Business School (MBA). Around 2009 the firm's original partners reached retirement age; Baxendale stepped back from day-to-day work while remaining a founding partner emeritus, and he is currently listed as an owner of Tucker Capital Corporation.
