Background
David Fergusson is a Singapore-born financial-services entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in cross-asset investment, corporate finance and investment banking. He began his career in 1994 at NM Rothschild and went on to hold investment-banking roles at UBS and CLSA (including telecommunications coverage). He established Citigroup's institutional securities business in Indonesia, serving as a Director of PT Citigroup Securities Indonesia. He has won awards for both investment-banking transactions and research over his career. He holds an MA from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA from London Business School.
Fergusson is a co-founder, Director and principal shareholder of Woodside Holdings Investment Management (WH-IM), a boutique Singapore fund manager that opened to external institutional and ultra-high-net-worth investors in 2009 and runs the multi-asset Asian Wealth Fund (TAWF), spanning gold, equities, fixed income, private equity and alternatives. He is also a Director and principal shareholder of Nimoi Holdings Pte Ltd, a long-horizon Asian investment-holding and venture-building company that he has helped build into a roughly US$200m-per-year business.
Through Nimoi, Fergusson has co-founded and operated a cluster of financial-services companies. He has been Chairman and co-founder of Global Precious Metals (GPM) since 2012, a Singapore-based precious-metals trading and custody firm serving institutions and HNW investors. In 2019 he co-founded Hugo / Hugosave (Singapore's self-described first "Wealthcare®" savings and investing app) and serves as Co-Founder and CEO, a role that has expanded into leading Atlas Consolidated, Hugosave's parent, which now also offers HugoHub, a cloud-native banking-as-a-service core-banking platform for financial institutions. He has been an investment-committee member of the Dunfallandy Trust since 2007.

Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests and builds primarily in financial services and fintech in Asia, with a stated mission to "democratize finance" and improve financial wellbeing, literacy and inclusion.
- Operates a venture-building / long-term ownership model through Nimoi Holdings, emphasizing "a long-term investment horizon," strict due diligence and stringent underwriting rather than rapid flipping — Nimoi describes itself as a partners' company taking long-term ownership stakes.
- Backs companies he can co-found and operate, not just fund — most of his "portfolio" (GPM, WH-IM, Atlas/Hugosave) are businesses he helped found and run.
- WH-IM itself invests multi-asset: gold, stocks, fixed income, private enterprises, private-equity deals, structured products and alternatives for institutions and UHNW clients.
- On the founder side of his own ventures, Hugosave's early capital came at seed and pre-Series A stages, consistent with his angel/seed-stage profile.
Notable Investments
- Hugosave / Hugo (Atlas Consolidated) — Singapore "Wealthcare®" savings & investing app he co-founded (2019); raised a ~US$2M seed round (June 2021, led by 1982 Ventures with family offices and angels) and a ~US$4M pre-Series A (July 2022), ~US$10.5M raised across rounds.
- Atlas Consolidated / HugoHub — parent company building a banking-as-a-service core-banking platform; closed an USD 18.1M Series B in August 2025, led by Tin Men Capital with participation from Getz, Inc. and Woodside Holdings Investment Management.
- Global Precious Metals (GPM) — Singapore precious-metals trading and custody firm; co-founded and chaired since 2012 (Nimoi invested Nov 2012).
- Woodside Holdings Investment Management (WH-IM) — boutique Singapore fund manager running the Asian Wealth Fund (Nimoi investment dated July 2009).
- Nimoi Holdings — Asian investment-holding / venture-building vehicle he co-founded and helped grow to ~US$200m/year in revenue.
